Day #2

The team departed bright and early from Guatemala City to our destination of Chiquimula.
Unity is just not a strong enough word to describe our team!  Upon arrival, we loaded up our vans and headed to the first village of Chorti people.

porta potties and gas station bathrooms in the States seem like a luxury….picture yourself trampling through chickens and pigs, dirt and mud, up a rocky hill to an outhouse…basically a hole in the ground filled with parasites.  As I stood there thinking that all I wanted to do was get out of there, I had to stop and pause.  I wondered, “could this really be real”?  And it was.  It was SO real.

Our awesome team had a medical and dental clinic set up in a matter of 30 minutes.  The Chorti people are just wonderful.  They are calm, peaceful, happy, and did not make one fuss about the care that they were receiving.  The children, although their bellies were bloated with worms, smiled, laughed and played all day.  They were such a delight.

The most amazing part of our day was the moment in which a Chorti man received Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior.  What a blessing!  We also had other opportunities to witness to these great people and plant the seed!

The Lord is really working in us.  We came to do God’s work, and it is getting done.  I am just in awe of everything we accomplished today.  We want these Chorti people to know that Jesus Christ is the way to everlasting life, love, and hope.  Please continue to pray for us as we continue to witness to these people through our clinics.  God is great and he is making a difference in the lives of the Chorti already.  Praise God!

  1. It sounds like you are all doing wonderful work! I am so impressed with you all and my prayers are with you on this journey. A special prayer for Kelly (after all, I am her mom!). I look forward to your updates!

  2. How blessed you must feel with one name already added to the Lambs Book.
You are all salt and light to a lost world. So many are praying for you all.
God is with you and loves you so. He loves the lost ones too and will guide your hearts and your words in His love to a saving grace for others to see Jesus in you.

  3. Good to hear you all arrived safely. Praying for each of you as you minister, for good health, and for the Holy Spirit to open the hearts of the people.
