Day 5- Mary’s Blog

Oh What a Glorious Day!!! I am the newest member to the team. I hail from West Virginia, home of the Mountaineers. I felt God calling several years ago to go on a mission trip. I prayed and waited patiently on His timing, which is not ours. There have been times in my Christian walk that I was unsure as to how God would use me. He helped me to become a nurse and I prayed that He could use what knowledge He had given me for this trip. There is a verse that I have used as my banner for many years. It is Phillipians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Through God’s strength, I was able to have the courage to pray with people that came through the clinic and also to share my testimony.

There was a young lady by the name of Alicia. She is studying to be a nurse. On the first day of clinic, she told me how her stethoscope had broken. She was asking how much it cost. I felt God was telling me to give her my stethoscope. On the last day of clinic, I told her that I had appreciated her help with the patients. She started crying and told me that we would not only be sisters in Christ but truly sisters forever. This trip has truly changed my life.
