July Guatemala Team

“To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings”-1 Corinthians 9:22-23

We left our comfy homes in the United State to come and serve with these people.

Our flight left Charleston, SC around 7:30 to Atlanta. We arrived in Atlanta around 8:40, and boarded our next plane at 10:58. From there, it was almost 3 hours of travel to Guatemala city, and another 6 hours of van travel to Jocotan, a city outside of Chiquimula.

We will be working with the small village of Chanco about 40 minutes from where we are. They have never heard the Gospel, something many of us take for granted.

Today we will be doing Prayer walking, which is pretty much walking through the village, asking God to prepare their hears for his truth: That Christ died for all sin, and he desires a relationship with them.

Please pray for us as we share the Gospel with the people of Chanco for the first time. Prepare their hearts for his message, and pray that God will guide us as we travel throughout the village.

PS: This hotel we’re staying at is great. God has blessed us with great cooks, who can cook mucho bueno! I think we eat healthier here than we do at home!

Thanks for your time,

Matthew Wieters

Thanks again to all who supported me and others on this trip to go to this country. God is going to use us in amazing ways I just know!
