I am proud to say that we have all survived 3 whole days in Guatemala. There were a few close calls, with Miranda G., Derek, and Logan all getting sick today, but we are all doing considerably better this evening.
We did our door-to-door visits again today and my group reached 3 houses. All of the families were very welcoming, although no one accepted Jesus as their Savior today. On our way back up to the vans, one girl actually stopped us and asked if we were coming to visit her today. Sadly, we could not make it to her house today, but we are continuing tomorrow and will speak with her then!
Today the VBS story was the story of the lost sheep. I am on the crafts team and the craft was a sheep necklace and a coloring sheet with the memory verse on it. The kids really seemed to enjoy it and most seemed to remember the memory verse from yesterday, too. Its encouraging to see that they are remembering the verses. Even if they don’t mean anything to them now, they still have the verses with them when they are older.
We showed the movie again tonight, but the turnout was not quite what we had hoped for. All we can do is trust that this is part of God’s plan for the trip and keep doing what we have set out to do. We did have the chance to spend time with and play with the kids while they were setting up the video so it wasn’t all bad. Can’t wait to continue tomorrow!
Thank you for all your prayers,
