As we leave Chanco, we leave with wonderful memories and new excitement for the village.
The medical and dental clinics were steadily busy throughout the day. Many patients returned with family members to receive care, and still many new faces entered the clinic doors.
The Mission Team explored more of Chanco today, and we were welcomed into homes with smiles and hospitality. Many of us shared testimony and stories, and it is clear that the face of God shines in this community. Families asked us to pray for their health and well-being, for continued blessings in God’s grace, and for the continued work of this Mission to spread the love of Christ in their community.
One leader of the community named Francisco has been especially important for the Mission here. It was difficult for everyone to tell him and our new friends goodbye. As we left his home after a short visit, he carefully selected ripe bananas to give to us.
We all agree that fresh Guatemalan bananas exceed all previous experiences with bananas…THEY ARE SO GOOD!
Grace and peace from Chanco,
I love all the pictures and hearing the stories you’ve shared so far. I’m so glad you spent time with Fransisco too! I’m praying for The Lord to move in a mighty way while you are all in Guatemala and I’m also praying for health, team unity and safety. We love you! (Derek & Jennifer- Victoria and Nathan have been so much fun and so well behaved at church! You’ve taught them well – if I didn’t know better, it would have seemed like you weren’t gone at all! Kudos mom & dad)
Love the pictures. The pictures really remind me of the work in Chanco and the beautiful people there. I pray for traveling mercies for you. Also, I pray that the joy and excitement of what the Lord did thru you in Chanco will be contagious in Mt. P.
Blessings~~~~
