South Dakota Vision Trip

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.”

Proverbs 2:6-8

On Thursday morning, we will be headed to South Dakota. We will be there from Thursday, May 7th to Monday, 11th. In the last year, we’ve added a Regional Partnership with Hope Next Door–a non-profit organization that operates to help provide income for Native Americans living on reservations. The people who are employed with Hope Next Door are taught practical trade skills–such as sewing–in order that they might be able to provide for their families. The ultimate goal of Hope Next Door is that the proceeds would help to support a bi-vocational pastor who would work to plant an indigenous church on the reservation. This business model is incredibly cool, and it can be implemented anywhere!

The people group that we will meet in South Dakota is the Lakota Sioux. They are considered unreached–which means that less than 2% of their population self-identify as Evangelical Christians. At FBC, our desire is to work alongside our partners in order to see healthy disciples made and healthy churches planted among the unreached people groups of the world. That is why we’re taking a Vision Team to South Dakota–we want our Lord to be glorified among the Lakota Sioux!!

Would you pray with us as we prepare to go?

We deeply desire wisdom from the Lord on how we can best partner with Hope Next Door. Should we send teams? Are we to be prayer warriors?

Is this the right time in the life of our church to add this?

Please commit to praying for us and with us. We know that the Lord gives wisdom to those who ask for it!

Jenna
