“Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.” Psalm 126:5-6
This verse certainly seems to be an accurate reflection of the investment FBC and LifePark have made in Guatemala over the last several years. We often go to Guatemala with such heavy hearts–desperately desiring that the Lord would call many of the Chortí people to Himself. The work has caused many to weep over the lost souls who we’ve come to know and love so much. I love that Psalm 126 reflects the turmoil that believers often face when planting Gospel seeds in infertile places, yet there is also so much hope in this scripture. Yes, we’ve planted in tears over the last several years, but the day is coming that we will return with shouts of joy–for the Lord is bringing the harvest!
Please join us in praying that the July Guatemala team would be able to return with the harvest–not so that our team or churches would be glorified–but that our great God might get all of the honor and glory forever. We know that He alone has the power to save!
Our team of 9 will be leaving this Sunday, July 26th, and we will return Saturday, August 1st. This team is beautifully unique and the Spirit of the Lord is very evident among our team. We’ve already spent so much joyful time together, and we are confident that the Lord will use our team as we go!
Follow our blog this week as we will be updating it daily–with the cooperation of the internet. Please pray that our lights would shine brightly, our mouths would speak boldly and our hands would serve faithfully. We are excited to be messengers of the Good News!
Thank you for praying!
