“How then can they call on the one they have not believed in. And how can they believe in the one of who they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” -Romans 10: 14-15
Today is day 3 in Gautemala and it feels like we just arrived! The team has bonded over testimonies, worship time together, and sharing the gospel with the Guatemalans. We all feel very blessed to be here, and blessed to know that we have such a wonderful church family and friends back home praying for our team, and for the Guatemalans.
This morning, David and Brenda continued to teach the national pastors about salvation so they could teach others in the village. They taught what the bible says about faith vs. works as well as what the bible says about assurance of salvation. Our prayer is that there will be a church in this village sometime in the near future. We are seeking homes to host bible studies this week so when we are gone, they can continue to grow. While half the team stayed to continue teaching salvation, the other half went through the village to create relationships with the locals while giving testimonies and telling the story of Jesus.
The national we are training to teach, Miguel, is back from appendicitis surgery and we are excited to have him! His mother treated us to homemade bread and lemonade today. We were all very grateful.
In the afternoon, we continued to go house to house and tell the story of Jesus. We split into 2 teams and shared with 4 families. We are grateful they opened the door for us and that God used us as a vessel for His words. We are planning on going back to visit with these families tomorrow. Please continue to pray for us and that a home to be opened for a bible study.
Dios le bendiga!
